Meet the Team

Dr. Christopher Lops

Dr. Christopher Lops, MD, MA, is a board-certified Internist and Pediatrician.  He graduated from Pepperdine University with a Masters in Clinical Psychology in 2007, and earned his Doctor of Medicine from Albany Medical College in 2014. He completed a dual residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Massachusetts where he served as a chief resident. Through his personal and professional observations, Dr. Lops has experienced the pitfalls of conventional medicine wherein the failure to focus on lifestyle factors and root causes leads to further dis-ease and chronic illness.

Dr. Lops became interested in functional medicine when several  family members became ill and were unable to recover their health until they took a functional medicine approach.  Through this experience, he realized the importance of addressing the root causes of illness. He has completed his Functional Medicine training through the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM) and the Medical Academy of Pediatric and Special Needs (MAPS).  In addition, he has completed courses in mold with Dr. Jill Crista and PANS with Dr. Nancy O’Hara and is currently completing a fellowship in lyme and mold with Dr. Tom Moorecraft. His practice combines both conventional and functional medicine to create a personalized plan for helping patients achieve their health goals and, ultimately, wellness.

In his free time, Dr. Lops enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, reading, and surfing.

Dr. Elizabeth Lops

Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Lops graduated from the University of Maine with a Ph.D. in Developmental-Clinical Psychology in 2015. She completed her internship year at Westchester Jewish Community Services followed by a fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital. Liz has extensive background in neuropsychology and developmental disabilities. In the last decade she has specialized in working with individuals with medical conditions that cause neuropsychiatric symptoms, in particular people with PANS/PANDAS, tick-born illness, and other chronic illnesses.

Liz’s interest in functional medicine began with her own journey of chronic health issues, which arose in early childhood.  After years of seeing conventional medicine physicians, who failed to identify the cause of her health symptoms, she finally found answers, and ultimately wellness, with a functional medicine approach.

Liz’s clients appreciate her down to earth nature and candid approach to therapy. She is trained in acceptance and commitment based therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP), and eye movement and desensitization reprocessing therapy (EMDR). She takes an individualized approach to each client and family, ensuring that they feel safe, and adapts treatment based on client needs.  Liz also works with the entire family when called for, as she believes a family systems approach is the most beneficial for healing. Liz has a holistic therapy style, focusing on mindfulness, lifestyle, and therapeutic interventions in order to heal the mind, body, and soul. Her personal experience as well as advanced training in functional medicine guides her therapeutic approach. In her free time, Liz enjoys spending time with her husband and children, walking on the beach with her dog Lucky, reading, and doing yoga.

Our Approach

At Grounded Wellness Personalized Health, we believe optimal health comes from understanding our patients as a whole person, not just a collection of symptoms.

Our goal is to create a partnership with our patients to create an individualized treatment plan tailored to their needs. We take time to listen to your story, understand your health goals, and explore the complex factors that influence your wellbeing. Rather than simply managing symptoms, we work together to identify underlying imbalances and create sustainable strategies tailored to your unique needs.

Every person's path to healing is different. By using a personalized approach, encompassing both conventional and functional methodology, we combine the latest scientific evidence with a deep appreciation for how genetics, environment, lifestyle, nutrition, and stress interconnect to shape your health.  Specifically, we investigate how these factors collectively lead to imbalances within the body and result in dis-ease. Through comprehensive evaluation and collaborative care planning, we empower you to take an active role in your wellness journey. Whether you are seeking to prevent future illness, optimize your current health, relieve stress and emotional imbalances, or address persistent health symptoms that haven't responded to conventional approaches, our goal is to support you with personalized, evidence-based care.
